Geneva, 25 April 2023 – On 26 May Baghera/wines will hold its first physical auction in Asia, in Singapore. Baghera/wines has been established in the market city since October 2022 and has already held a successful online auction in February 2023. Kipling #5 « The exquisite collection of a Singaporean couple » , the inaugural physical auction this May 2023 will take place at the Cuturi Gallery in Singapore at 7 pm local Singapore time – featuring a selection of exceptional wines from estates such as Comte Liger-Belair, René Engel, Jean-Yves Bizot, Arnoux-Lachaux, Leroy, D’Auvenay to name but a few. Spread over 208 lots, the bottles have been selected for their rarity, their impeccable provenance as well as their quality of conservation and storage. As a prelude to this exceptional event, Baghera/wines will stand out with its presence at Vinexpo-Asia from 23 to 25 May at Marina Bay Sands, as the only wine auction house to be represented there.

Inaugural physical auction in Singapore

Baghera/wines has been developing its network in Asia and promoting the work of winemakers from all over the world to this sophisticated, curious clientele for several years. The inaugural physical auction opens a new chapter in the discussion between East and West, with Baghera /wines’ team of experts having worked with the couple of wine collectors to present a prescient selection of bottles from the finest estates in France.

The highlight of the auction is a set of six 2008 Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair appellation bottles, in their original wooden case, estimated at between SGD 30,000 and 60,000.

The top tier of lots to watch includes an exceptional vertical Domaine Leroy, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Beaux Monts" – 1998, 1999 and 2000, three bottles estimated at SGD 12,000 – 24,000 ; an assortment of 2 Echézeaux, 2 Latricières-Chambertin and 2 Nuits-Saint-Georges from Domaine Arnoux Lachaux – 2019, in the original box, six bottles estimated at SGD 14,000 – 28,000 or three bottles of Vosne-Romanée "les Jachées" Domaine Jean-Yves Bizot – 2017 estimated at SGD 9,000 – 18,000.

Over 570 bottles and magnums in 208 lots cover appellations highly sought after by connoisseurs of great terroirs.

The auction « The exquisite collection of a Singaporean couple » marks the launch of Baghera/wines’ physical sales in Singapore. This spring auction in Asia was born of a trusting relationship between a couple of local collectors, known for his impeccable taste and high standards of quality, and Baghera/wines whose team of experts is equally dedicated to offering bottles of impeccable provenance and exceptional quality.

VINEXPO-ASIA 2023 : a well-thought-out presence

As a prelude to its auction on May 26, 2023, Baghera/wines is pleased to announce its presence at Vinexpo Asia 2023, the leading event for wine professionals in the Asia-Pacific region. Baghera/wines will be the only wine auction house represented at this event, with its local teams thus demonstrating their desire to be as close as possible to the economic fabric and strategic issues of the region.

From 23 to 25 May 2023, the entire wine and spirits community will congregate in Singapore for the first time, a strategic location for international trade. Producers from around the world and industry decision-makers from Asia-Pacific will gather for three exceptional days of promotion and networking within the unique setting of Marina Bay Sands.
