Warzone 2 DMZ: Irradiated Waters Guide
Unsure of where to find the Nuclear Fuel Rods for the Irradiated Waters mission
Unsure of where to find the Nuclear Fuel Rods for the Irradiated Waters mission in Warzone 2 DMZ? Here is a guide to help you find them!
The last two tiers of missions for the Redacted faction focus heavily on the Koschei Complex for Warzone 2 DMZ. Now that you have made it to Tier 5, it's time to complete the final available set of missions, most of which task you with heading into this dangerous bunker complex. Irradiated Waters is one such mission you will need to complete, and it is one that features objectives remarkably similar to the Black Mous Story Mission: The Trinity.

Irradiated Waters is a Tier 4 Redacted Faction Mission and requires you to fulfill three main objectives in order to complete it. These objectives are to bring a Geiger Counter into the Koschei Complex, use it to find the 4 nuclear fuel rods within the flooded Barracks, and then extract all 4 nuclear fuel rods in the same deployment. Doing so will reward you with a Classified calling card and 20,000 XP.
The first objective of Irradiated Waters tasks you with bringing a Geiger Counter into the Koschei Complex. Obtaining a Geiger Counter is a pretty simple process, as they are a piece of tactical equipment tied to the Secure Nuclear Material contract. Start by heading to Al Mazrah and locating a Secure Nuclear Material contract (marked as the Hazardous icon on your tac map).
Once you have accepted the contract, a nearby toolbox will be marked on your tac map. Head towards the toolbox's location, and then acquire the Geiger Counter found inside. You can also go ahead and complete the contract. Doing so will secure you with some decent loot, along with a great amount of extra cash.
All that is left now is to head into Koschei Complex with the Geiger Counter you just found. Although entering the Koschei Complex via any of the Al Mazrah bunker entrances will do the trick, we recommend heading in through the Taraq entrance. This is because it will lead you into the Barracks, the location in which all 4 nuclear fuel rods for the second objective are located. You will find the bunker entrance underneath the bridge to the east side of Taraq Village.

To complete the second objective of Irradiated Waters, you will need to use a Geiger Counter to find the 4 nuclear fuel rods within the flooded Barracks. Although the mission brief specifies the use of a Geiger Counter, you can find all 4 without the use of one. However, unlike the nuclear fuel rods tied to the mission The Trinity, the fuel rods in Koschei Complex cannot always be found in the same locations. Instead, they have a few different spawns, but only 4 can be found within the complex in each deployment.
The easiest method to locate all 4 fuel rods is by tracking them with a Geiger Counter, but if you are looking to obtain them without one, then you can expect to find the fuel rods:
As most of the fuel rod spawns are located underwater, we recommend using a Rebreather during your search - as they can often be located in areas in which you cannot surface to replenish your oxygen levels. Once you have all 4 fuel rods, the second object will be complete.
If you did complete a Secure Nuclear Material contract in Al Mazrah, and secured the two fuel rods found there, they will count towards your progress if you drop and pick them up again within the complex.
To fulfill the third and final objective of Irradiated Waters, you will need to extract all 4 nuclear fuel rods within the same deployment. Now the nuclear fuel rods are in your backpack, make your way towards the Chemical Treatment Plant - the route to which is marked by red arrows along the Barracks. Eventually, you will come across a large bunker door and, because you entered via the Taraq bunker entrance, you will only need to hit the red button next to the door to open it.
All that is left now is to locate the nearest exfil point - one of which always spawns within the Chemical Treatment Plant - and then successfully exfil with all 4 of the nuclear fuel rods. Alternatively, you can take the secret exit within the Barracks - but you will need to find the Barracks Exit Key A and B to access it. Extracting all 4 fuel rods will fully complete the third and final stage of this mission.
If you are eliminated before you can exfil with all 4 nuclear fuel rods, then you will need to gather them again in a separate deployment.
