Fancy a brew?

Whether it's Jean-Luc Picard demanding "tea, Earl Grey, hot", or drag queens aplenty spilling it (metaphorically), the entertainment world sends us regular reminders that you should always make time for a hearty brew.

Those hoping to encourage you to take part in a bit of seasonal gifting know that, too, hence an ever-expanding range of tea advent calendars landing on physical and virtual shelves as we head into the last couple of months of the year. (They're also a handy way to sample a particular brand's range of teas to see if you might like them, without having to commit to buying a whole box, if you're in the mood to treat yourself.)

Looking for coffee advent calendars? Prepare your kettle. Prefer an affordable coffee machine? We've got a list of those too.

Digressing to gifts of the seasonal countdown variety, we've also got a selection of LEGO advent calendars, Funko Pop! advent calendars, alcohol advent calendars and beauty advent calendars that may be of interest. Enjoy!

Whittard's advent calendar for 2022 contains 94 teabags – four in each drawer – with a range including organic infusions (including camomile and peppermint), a green tea, four herbal teas and three fruit teas. Delivery is available in the UK and internationally, and you also have the option to collect from a local store.

Established in 2010, English Tea Shop specialises in organic tea, working with organic and fairtrade farmers around the globe on its products. This box includes 25 pyramid tea bags, with blend names listed in the product description including 'Gingerbread Treat', 'Festive Spice' and the delightfully alliterative 'Happy Holiday'.

T2's 'Sip the Future' advent collection contains an impressive variety of teas behind each of its 24 doors. If bags literally aren't your bag, then there's also a loose leaf tea option. Shipping is available within the UK and internationally, as well as a click and collect option if you're near a store.

If you don't mind the 2021 edition of T2's advent calendar, then it currently has this listed for a slightly cheaper price than the current year's edition. You'll find 24 loose leaf teas in there, with varieties including eggnog, 'Mulled Wine Magic' and an apple, hibiscus, raspberry and beetroot (yes, beetroot!) tea called 'Twinkle Berry'.

This Pukka Herbs calendar unfurls to reveal 24 different types of herbal tea from its range. There's also the 'Days of Christmas' collection and a slightly pricier 'Days of Giving' box in the style of a book, which contains two bags per day instead of just one.

The vast range of advent calendars at Fortnum & Mason includes not one, but two tea advent calendars. Available from October 17, the 24-door Tea Lovers calendar contains a mix of teas including fruit and herbal infusions. UK shipping and click and collect are available, with international delivery to select locations.

Complementing its coffee and hot chocolate advent calendars, Yawn Brew presents a wide range of tea options. For bagged teas, you can choose between a Christmas selection or breakfast tea selection in little biodegradable pyramids, and for loose leaf calendars, there are three options – Christmas tea, caffeine-free tea (with rooibos, herbal and fruit blends), or single origin tea.

Also available via Not on the High Street.

This wooden advent calendar from Fortnum & Mason contains 24 little tins of loose leaf tea including green teas and Christmas blends. If you want to reuse the calendar in future years, then there are also refill packs of chocolate and other sweet treats available.

Luxury tea brand Newby has brought together an assortment of black, green and oolong teas for the festive season, along with herbal and fruit infusions. Delivery is available both in the UK and internationally via Selfridges, with click and collect also an option.

Founded in 2006, Teapigs has now become a household name, and you can sample its vast variety of teas through its advent calendar, presenting one bag to you each day in the run-up to Christmas.

Specialising in sustainably-sourced tea grown in Sri Lanka, Doyen is a relative newcomer – founded in 2019, the company also aims to minimise its carbon footprint through all its production processes. Each door contains two teabags from Doyen's range, which includes green teas, herbal and fruit blends.
