Disney Dreamlight Valley is making it much easier for the hoarders among us. Ever since the game launched, players have only had access to small chests when adding storage options to their houses. The house initially comes with one chest that expands as you upgrade the house itself, but you would soon need additional storage.

If you like to keep hold of every resource, just in case, you now have access to more chest options. Now you can keep one of every flower, all the shiny gems, and piles of sand without needing chests strewn throughout your home. You'll need a lot of materials, but if you're a hoarder, you already have everything you need.

An update to Disney Dreamlight Valley has given you more options for storage chests. Previously only small chests were available, offering 16 slots, meaning players were filling their houses with many chests to store crafting resources and cooking ingredients.

Since the update that brought in the new size chests, the storage option in the furniture sub-menu now features every item of furniture which can be used for storage.

These new chests come in three sizes - small, medium, and large. These chests give you 16, 32, and 48 slots respectively. If you're a hoarder, these crafts are perfect. Sometimes you just won't need a large chest, but it's usually the case that you need more space than what the small chest can offer.

Crafting Materials

Small Chest (16 slots)

25 Softwood, 25 Stone

Medium Chest (32 slots)

25 Hardwood, 5 Iron Ingot, 1,000 Dreamlight

Large Chest (48 slots)

25 Dark Wood, 5 Gold Ingot, 5,000 Dreamlight

As part of this recent update, you also have more options in how chests are used. You can now 'smart transfer' your chests to make adding items even easier. There's also now an option to sort each chest individually by name, type, and value in Dreamlight or Star Coins. Now, all we need is the ability to change the exterior design of each chest to match our decor.
